After being cooped up in the car the day before, we decided a walking tour of the city was just what we needed. But first, breakfast at EL Huevo Frito!

Once we polished off our delicious desayuno, we wound through the streets of Bilbao, and even visited their cultural center, Azkuna Zentroa. Check out their icon columns!
We walked through Plaza Moyua and saw Txabarri jauregia, complete with the purple dot flag for women's day. We also crossed a famous pedestrian bridge, Puente Zubizuri - it was quite windy that day.
Following the long walk and the wet and windy weather, we took a break in our hotel room to catch our breath before venturing out again. Heather caught me doing some work on camera

Since we could see the Guggenheim from our hotel, we went to walk through the outdoor sculpture garden (it's closed on Mondays). Reactions ranged from 'cool' to 'creepy'.
Since it was after 6 PM now, the Bilboko Arte Ederren Museoa (Bilbao Fine Art Museum) had free entry to its permanent exhibits! On the inside, there were many strange and fascinating works, on the outside, there was quite the collection of street lamps.
As it was approaching dinner hour (e.g. 8 PM), we wandered downtown to grab a bite at El Globo, a famous pintxos bar. The food was excellent, but the highlight of the night for Heather was the delicious cheesecake from next door, La Viña del Ensanche. Yes, it comes in a glass!

Full and tired from our long day of walking, stumbled back to our hotel to enjoy our slumber. This post is brought to you by the pun of the day, Bilboats!

Also, as per usual, the map of our journey.
